Carrots!
Not only do carrots improve your vision, they are fantastic for your hair! The vitamin A found in carrots can help balance the naturally occurring oils in your scalp. If you have dandruff, carrots are for you! I think the best way to have carrots is just to buy it in juice form ( I like Bolthouse Farms) and put it in a smoothie. I do not like the taste of carrots at all and disguising the taste is what has worked best for me!
Spinach!
I wish I could have recorded the jump of joy I did when I found out my favorite veggies qualified for this list! Spinach is a great source of vitamin A and C. Your scalp and taste buds will thank you so much.
Fish!
The Omega 3 Fatty Acids conditions your hair from the inside out making it shiny and awesome. My favorite kind of fish is Salmon. Tilapia is also very yummy too. If you're not a fish eater but want to try to incorporate fish into your diet, try eating sushi! Most sushi rolls don't taste "fishy".
Peaunuts!
The Zinc in peanuts are essential to hair growth as there is a link to hair growth and zinc. It doesn't have to be just plain old peanuts, you can have peanut butter too!
Bananas!
The vitamin B that is found in bananas gives your body extra oxygen and iron. Oxygen and Iron are two things that will make your hair grow. Bananas also taste terrific in smoothies, but I don't recommend mixing bananas with carrot juice...that sounds totally gross.
Water!
Boring I know....but staying hydrated will show inside and out when it comes to hair. A big reason why some people have dry brittle hair is because they don't get enough water. If you can't stand the taste of water ( and believe me, I've been there) squeeze some lemon juice in it or freeze some pretty colored berries and used them as ice cubes.
Parsley!
Parsley is rich in vitamins C, K, and A, these vitamin are not only great for your overall health but for hair growth too! Try some parsley in your pesto. Breastfeeding moms beware: Parsley will probably decrease your milk supply. No bueno.
Dried Apricots!
If you haven't tried dried apricots, they are so freaking good in salads! Anyway these are full of vitamin E. Vitamin E stimulates the circulation of your scalp, which causes hair growth!
Eggs!
The protein in eggs will help your hair grow and prevent breakage. Your hair is like eighty percent protein, so more protein is a good idea if your hair isn't the healthiest. Eggs also contain biotin, which is crucial for not only growing hair, but maintaining healthy hair. The best part is, you don't even have to actually eat the eggs. Just crack one or two open (depending on the thickness/length of your hair) and stick it on your head. After letting it sit for about fifteen minutes, be sure to rinse it out with cold water. If you don't, you'll have scrabbled eggs caught in your hair.
