Fancy Five inspired by: Lana Del Rey ♡

If it's not completely obvious, I am obsessed with Lana Del Rey. The controversial singer will definitely be remember as a style icon, she even has a Mulberry bag named after her! She is a "self-styled gangsta Nancy Sinatra. Her most recent album, Born to Die is self described as "Lolita got lost in the hood" AKA, she is all that is perfect in the world. (;
Here are five looks inspired by Lana

Lana's most recent single is "National Anthem". In the video, she is dressed as Jackie O and A$AP Rocky is supposed to JFK. When I first heard this song, I did not think that's what she was trying to say . That's the beauty of songwriters like her, there's not always a singular meaning to her writing.
Anyway, this is what I thought she would end up wearing in the video.

Blue Jeans is a really great song and it was the first song that I heard by Lana so it will always have a place in my heart. Some parts remind me of Tre and I (: Maybe because we spent FIVE long months away from each other. It felt like forever!

Here's a look inspired by the summery song "Video Games".
I felt like the person in the song was changing who they were to suit their romantic conquest. That's why the outfits are polar opposites of themselves.

Fun Fact: This video was directed and edited by Lana herself!

I oftern refer to "Carmen" as "The Saddest song in the word". 1. because I relate to it. There was a time in my life that I didn't have everything together. I guess I made it look glamourous, people were envious of everything I was going through. 2 Because Lana Del Rey calls this video a "biopic". I know that life. It's not great. Even if it looks like you're alive and invincible, you feel numb and dead inside. That's why sometimes (as you can see in the article) I call her "Lana" like I know her. I really feel like I do because of this song.

I realize that most people reading this have not heard this song before.  But I've got you covered!

I think this is more or less a sexy song. I could imagine it's what Dita Von Tease dances to at she burlesque shows. Cool huh? I liked the idea of using a lot of bright, pastel colors, because that makes me think of mermaids. I also wanted to incorporate yellow and purple because Lavender and sunshine are repeated throughout the song.

Bonus:I was very surprised that Lana doesn't use a lot of makeup. It all comes down to pouty lips (example Sheer Lustrous Lipstick - Barocco Red - 4g/0.12oz by Vincent Longo,) winged eyeliner (example Elle Cosmetics Eyeliner ) and thick lashes (example Flirt It Curl Mascara).
